The same place has a collection of pig farms owned by Smithfield Foods. This wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smithfield_Foods) has info about Smithfield Foods and you can see that they have history of polluting rivers(with hog feaces). The rumour about these farms and their farming practices being reason for the outbreak was started in Mexican Media. It was not something cooked by some NGOs fighting big industries. The action to be taken when such a dangerous disease breaks out include finding how such outbreaks can be prevented in future. And that involves looking for the cause of the outbreak. Smithfield farms have stated that their pigs don't have any disease(with some proof am sure). But am very sceptical about all these as no one(as in the big health bodies in US or WHO) has tried to explain the origin of the outbreak yet.
